VinFast participates in the development of zero-emission vehicles COP26 ZEV


VinFast is committed to selling 100% of zero-emission vehicles from 2035, at the 26th United Nations Climate Change Summit, on October 10.

The Declaration on Development of Zero Emissions Vehicles (ZEV) was launched at the COP26 Climate Change Summit. Accordingly, VinFast is committed to the goal of selling 100% of ZEV vehicles in key markets from 2035 or earlier, promoting the global transport electrification revolution.

The COP26 ZEV Declaration was held within the framework of New York Climate Week 2022, to announce the new members that will join COP27, introduce the Alliance to Promote Zero Emissions Targets. Participation in this commitment can shows the determination of the Vietnamese car company in the direction of pursuing pure electric vehicles with no emissions to the environment.

"VinFast aims to become the world's leading electric vehicle manufacturer, contributing to promoting the global electric vehicle market, towards a green future," said Ms. Le Thi Thu Thuy, Vice President of Vingroup and General Director. VinFast global director said.

Previously, VinFast was one of the first car manufacturers in the world to announce a strategy to develop pure electric products. This company provides an electrified mobility ecosystem, including motorbikes, cars, buses and solutions to promote sustainable development.

"VinFast has joined a pioneer group of 14 car manufacturers who share the same commitment. The UK encourages Vietnamese businesses to consider joining this announcement," said British Ambassador to Vietnam Iain Frew.

In terms of operation and production, VinFast builds a process to reduce emissions, save water and energy sources. The company also works with leading research institutes and universities to find new solutions to its zero-emissions goal. The battery subscription policy also helps VinFast recover used batteries, dispose (or reuse) according to regulations in each market, in order to reduce negative impacts on the environment.

Recently, VinFast has joined The Climate Pledge, aiming to bring net emissions to zero by 2040.
